Terms of Service

These terms apply to the use of CalCar (calcar.io) and its services: vehicle checks, import cost estimates, the garage and the car assistant. By using CalCar you agree to these terms.
CalCar is an early-stage product operated by the CalCar project team. The legal entity, its registered address, the governing law and the venue for disputes will be added to these terms once they are finalised.
What CalCar is
CalCar is an information and analytics service. It gathers available data about a specific car, analyses it with the help of AI models and presents the result as a report, a score, a verdict and an assistant conversation.
Nature of the results
- Results are based on the data that could be found at the time of analysis and on AI-generated interpretation. Data may be incomplete, outdated or wrong.
- The absence of a record about an accident, a sale, an auction or a mileage reading does not mean that the event never happened.
- Analysis of photos and other visual evidence is an estimate and is not a guarantee of the car's technical condition.
- CalCar does not replace a physical inspection, diagnostics at a service station or a professional expert appraisal.
- The CalCar Score and the verdict are an informational assessment, not a guarantee of the car's condition, value or history.
- Import cost estimates are approximate: actual auction fees, shipping, customs and repair costs may differ.
- The decision to buy a car, and its consequences, are yours.
Third-party data
CalCar uses data from listing sites, auction and vehicle history sources, VIN decoding services and other public sources. These sources have their own limitations, errors and terms; CalCar cannot guarantee their accuracy or availability.
Accounts
- You may use CalCar without an account; some features (saved reports, memory, garage) require signing in with Google or an email link.
- You are responsible for access to your account and for everything done through it.
- We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms or harm the service.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- disrupt or overload the service, bypass its limits or interfere with its operation;
- use automated tools to scrape CalCar or to run analyses in bulk without our agreement;
- use CalCar to violate the law or the rights of others, including the terms of the sites whose listings you analyse;
- attempt to gain access to other people's accounts, reports or data.
Content and intellectual property
- The CalCar site, its design, texts, code and the structure of its reports belong to the CalCar project. You may use reports for your own purposes, including sharing them with public links, but you may not resell them or present them as your own service.
- Data you submit (listing links, photos, messages, memory) remains yours. You grant CalCar the right to process it in order to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- Reports shared with a public link can be viewed by anyone who has the link.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, CalCar is provided "as is" and is not liable for decisions made on the basis of its reports, for losses arising from buying or not buying a car, from inaccurate or incomplete data, or from service interruptions. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Paid services
CalCar is currently free during its early testing period. Paid services may be introduced later; their prices, payment and refund terms will be published separately before you are charged.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Continued use of CalCar after an update means you accept the new terms. The date at the top shows the latest version.
